Overview of 2025 Leeds Doctoral Scholarships UK.

The in 2025 Leeds is to present outstanding students with full funding for PhD studies as part of which we are awarding up to six scholarships. This program which covers a range of academic disciplines is put forth by the university to do research which is at the frontiers of its field. Also these scholarships are a show of the university’s support for academic excellence and innovation.

Which groups qualify for The Leeds Doctoral Scholarships 2025 UK?

Eligibility for these scholarships is very strict which means only the best candidates are chosen. We have that:

Be classified as UK fee-rated students.

Have a First Class Honours degree which is the equivalent of a UK First Degree. For candidates with a lower degree we may still consider them if they are to receive or have a Distinction in a related Master’s program or in case they bring to the table an equivalent amount of experience in the field (for example from the industry or business sector).

Not to have already received a doctorate or to be in the process of completing one.

Reside within a short distance of the University of Leeds during the scholarship period.

At the University of Leeds, we have developed this scholarship program, also a member of the UK’s top research institutions.

Selection Process for Applicants

The selection is very competitive and we look at academic performance.

It includes the following stages:

Shortlisting by Schools: Each university school identifies and puts forth candidates which they base on academic performance and research ability.

University Panel Review: The University of Leeds Scholarship Board which reviews the short listed candidates and makes the final choice.

Announcement of Results: Successful results are announced within 10 weeks of the application deadline.

Documents Needed for Application

Applicants must submit:

A fully out filled application for the research program they have chosen.

Presenting documents as required by the related School or Faculty.

It is very important to see that all application materials are complete, we do not consider incomplete applications.

Eligibility by Country

The in 2025 Leeds is open to only UK fee rated students. We do not include international students in this program.

Benefits of the 2025 Leeds Doctoral Scholarships UK.

Recipients of the scholarships are given great financial and academic support which includes:.

Full Academic Fees: Coverage of three years (for part time study pro-rata).

Maintenance Grant: An annual grant of £19,237 for full time study in the 2024/25 session which also includes annual increases in step with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) scale. Part time awards are given at 60% of the full time rate.

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship is available for a term of up to 3.5 years for full time study which for part time awards is based proportionately. The award is given out for a year initially and may be renewed for a further 2.5 years’ term which is subject to you doing well academically.

Upon issue of the 9 digit Student Application ID, fill out the online scholarship application form.
