2025 Scholarships for International Students in Canada
Canada is an international study hub which puts it at the top for foreign students looking at quality education and also what it has to offer in terms of cultural diversity and also what we may term as a very friendly environment. In 2025 we have also introduced a large number of scholarships to support these students in what they are doing which is also which we are seeing a growth in here are some of the best that are available.
1. MacBain Scholarship in honor of McCall.
Level: College and Post-graduate.
Funding: Fully covered, tuition, fees and living expenses.
Eligibility: Available to both local and foreign students.
Application Deadline: August 21st, 2024.
Details: The McCall MacBain Scholarship which is very competitive is for students from any part of the world that we wish to bring to Canada to study. It also puts a large focus on leadership and community involvement.
2. At the University of Toronto which has the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships.
Level: College student.
Funding: Covers tuition, books, and full residence for four years which also includes incidental fees.
Eligibility: International students with outstanding academic performance and also display great leadership, and community involvement.
Application Process: Requires a submission from the student’s school and an application to the University of Toronto.
Application Deadlines: By October 11, 2024 for school, October 18, 2024 for student application; and November 8, 2024 for scholarship.
Details: This scholarship which is awarded to exceptional students from all over the world including those that are studying in Canadian high schools. It is the most preeminent and competitive scholarship for international students at the University of Toronto.
3. UBC MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program.
Level: College student.
Funding: Inclusive scholarships which cover tuition, travel, books, housing, food, and living expenses.
Eligibility: Students from Sub-Saharan Africa of academic talent and financial need.
Application Deadline: November 15th, 2024.
Details: This program is focused on bringing into the academic fold of opportunity talented but economically disadvantaged youth from Sub-Saharan Africa. We provide full support through the study period which includes financial, academic, social and post graduation support.
4. Government of Canada study grants.
Level: Short term exchange programs at post secondary institutions.
Funding: Includes airfare, living costs, health insurance, visa or study/work permit fees.
Eligibility: International students in full time study programs.
Application Process: Students are to go to their home institution’s international office to apply through a Canadian institution.
Application Deadline: March 19th, 2024.
Details: This scholarship has been set up for international exchange programs and we provide full financial support through the duration of it.
5. York University Future Leader Scholarships.
Level: University level.
Funding: CAD $20,000 per year which may be renewed for up to four years.
Eligibility: Outstanding foreign students who also are very academic and into leadership.
Application Deadline: March 1, 2025.
Details: This award is for international students which have proven great academic success and leadership skills. It covers tuition as well as related fees for the duration of their undergraduate study at York University.
Additional Scholarships
Provides $3,000 for freshman year of first term post secondary international students with above average grades and English proficiency.
Humber College Scholarships for International Students: Includes full tuition renewable scholarships and one time entrance scholarships for new international students.
University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarships: Recognizes exceptional international students at the beginning of their undergraduate studies with a scholarship of CAD 15,000 per year.
