Which students are eligible for The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship?

Eligible for this scholarship are international students which include non Canadian citizens and non permanent residents. For the Fall 2025 intake we are looking for applicants which are starting their first year of any undergraduate degree program at the University of Calgary. We also base our decision on academic excellence and that at the time of application the candidate must fulfill the University’s English Language Proficiency requirements.

Fields of Study Covered

The scholarship does not go to certain programs or faculties. It is available to students in any undergraduate field of study at the University of Calgary. This flexibility we see across a wide range of disciplines which include Engineering, Business, Health Sciences, Arts, Environmental Science and more.

This award is for the University of Calgary. We have that for any high school and post high school students which have applied to or have been accepted into our undergraduate programs which may apply.

Selection Process for Applicants

Applicants for the University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship will be in the High School Prestige Awards Competition. Selection is very competitive and base on a blend of academic performance, leadership ability and commitment to community service.

In March or April of 2025 short listed candidates will be advised of the results of the University’s scholarship committee’s in depth review.

Proof of language proficiency in English (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL scores).

A personal essay (if requested).

The scholarship is available to international students from any country which includes that of your home. Also report if you do not have Canadian citizenship or permanent residence to be eligible.

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship is for a term of four years which is subject to the recipient’s fulfillment of renewal criteria:.

Earn a GPA of at least 2.60 for the fall and winter terms which total 24.00 units.

Continue your full time international student status.

Continue paying international differential tuition fees

Application Procedure

To be awarded the University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:.

Apply to the University of Calgary for the 2025 Fall term.

Once in the program we ask that you complete your scholarship application through the High School Prestige Awards Competition.

By the December 1, 2024 deadline.

Await word from the University which will be in March or April 2025.
